Indigenous students at the University of Waterloo are invited to join this drop-in group sessions for the purpose of community connection, mutual support, and artistic expression through collaging. No artistic experience is required. Snacks and supplies will be provided.  

Facilitator

Adria Joel, MSW, RSW (she/her) is a mixed-race Black woman with Trinidadian and Italian heritage and identifies as bisexual. She strives to work from an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, anti-colonial, trauma-informed, intersectional, person-centered approach. Adria is passionate about collective healing and loves facilitating groups and workshops. 

Sieara Miller, BSW (she/her) is a practicum student from the Master of Social Work - Indigenous Field of Study program at Wilfrid Laurier University currently working with Melissa Ireland in the Office of Indigenous Relations. Sieara is interested in working from an anti-colonial and Indigenous wholistic approach. She is mixed settler and Anishinaabe of Lac Seul First Nation and is from the Kitchener area.  

Who can join?

This group is open to any Indigenous students at the University of Waterloo.

When and how do we meet?

The group will meet in-person.
