Drinfeld modules are an important tool for studying the class field theory and other aspects of global function fields, and have attracted significant interest from a computational perspective. This is due in no small part to their strong analogy with Elliptic curves in the case of Drinfeld modules of rank two. In this talk, we will provide a general overview of the theory of Drinfeld modules, and demonstrate recently developed software tools for computing with them. Particular attention will be paid to algorithms for computing j-invariants, characteristic polynomials, and isogenies.

The development of this package was joint work with David Ayotte, Xavier Caruso, and Antoine Leudière.
