Distributed Key Generation (DKG) Protocols are notoriously difficult to prove to be secure, and a number of subtle breaks have been demonstrated in practice. In this talk, we will review two well-known DKGs, discuss their notions of security, and review how one DKG cannot be proven to be secure in certain contexts. We then discuss how the second DKG fixes this issue, at the tradeoff of performance.
