National Taiwan University (NTU) has published its annual ranking of world universities based on the performance of scientific papers, aiming to investigate the world’s top research universities.

Computer Science at the University of Waterloo was ranked second in Canada, 16th in North America and 29th globally in 2015.

According to the NTU ranking methodology, “this ranking system employs bibliometric methods to analyze and rank the scientific paper performances of the world’s top 500 universities. The selection of the 500 universities for inclusion in this ranking system was based on information obtained from the Essential Science Indicators (ESI).

The 2015 performance measures are composed of eight indicators. These indicators together represent three different criteria of scientific paper performance: research productivity, research impact, and research excellence.”
