Rudi Chen and Shida Li
Second-year computer science student, Rudi Chen and second-year software engineering student, Shida Li have emerged victorious from the 27-hour long Nokia Imaging hackathon last week in Lund, Sweden.

The hackathon focused around the Nokia Lumia 1020, released in July, and attendees were encouraged to transform ideas into mobile apps. Chen and Li developed a “content aware down-sampling” smart resizing app which allows users to edit or remove empty space between more important parts of a photo while maintaining the rest of the image. Their winning app will be promoted via several online Nokia channels, as well as on the Windows Phone Store.
