The Association for Computing Machinery has named David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science Professor Troy Vasiga an ACM Senior Member. Initiated in 2006, the ACM Senior Member program recognizes individuals with at least 10 years of professional experience in the Association who have demonstrated performance through technical leadership, and technical or professional contributions.
Along with Fellows and Distinguished Members, ACM’s Senior Members join a distinguished cadre of colleagues to whom ACM and its members look for guidance and leadership in computing and information technology.
ACM Senior Membership represents an important career milestone and has become a globally acknowledged and respected distinction. It is emblematic of a high degree of professional competency, and acts as a measure by which peers and employers can acknowledge technical expertise and professional accomplishments.
“Congratulations to Troy on becoming an ACM Senior Member,” said Mark Giesbrecht, Director of the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science. “He joins a distinguished group of colleagues at the School of Computer Science as well as globally whose scientific achievements have been recognized by the ACM, the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society.”
