Student life in the Faculty of Environment

More than just a set of connections, the Environment student body is a community made up of storytellers, activists, experts in the making, leaders who inspire us to think beyond today, and, above all else, lifelong friends.

"Outside of class, I make it a priority to get involved with the community, both on and off campus. In my first year, I was involved with several student groups: my program society (Waterloo Environment and Business Society, WEBS), UW RAISE, Sustainable Campus Initiative, and the UW Radicle (the Faculty's student-run publication)."

"I really love how Environment students are always looking for ways to change the way we interact with the environment; whether its through sustainability, or through technology. I find that this drive really does motivate and create a unique academic environment unmatched at any university across Canada."

"Knowledge Integration gives me all the flexibility I could ever want in a degree, allowing me to continue studying design while also letting me pursue the sciences. It's also a tight program that inevitably fosters a great community both in and out of the classroom."
