Derek Besner is the recipient of the 2021 Donald O. Hebb Distinguished Contribution Award from the Canadian Society for Brain, Behaviour, and Cognitive Science. Derek will receive the award, and be invited to give a plenary lecture, at the CSBBCS Annual Meeting in June 2021.
The Hebb Award is given to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the study of brain, behaviour, and cognitive science. Recipients have demonstrated a sustained and meritorious program of research, and have made further contributions to the discipline via mentorship and leadership that has been deemed outstanding. Past winners include Fergus Craik, Doreen Kimura, and Ian Whishaw amongst many other luminaries of Canadian science. It is the highest recognition of scientific contributions made by CSBBCS.
