If so, consider attending this group.  Mindfulness is a mental state and therapeutic technique attained by purposefully focusing your awareness on the present moment, while calmly and without judgement acknowledging your feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations

Why practice mindfulness?

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) can help you if you suffer from repeated bouts of depression and chronic unhappiness. MBCT combines the ideas of cognitive therapy with meditation and attitudes based on the cultivation of mindfulness. Mindfulness can help you learn thought patterns that often characterize depression and unhappiness and help you develop a new relationship to these thoughts.

What will I learn?

A variety of practices to manage depression, anxiety and prevent relapse. By learning to identify the triggers and symptoms of anxiety and depression, you can effectively address these issues as they arise in everyday life.

Who can join this group?

  • If you experience moderate anxiety or depression, or have a history of depression, this group could be for you!
  • You must be open to participating in a virtual therapy group
  • You must be located within Ontario at the time of the session due to regulatory requirements

A commitment to attendance and home practice activities is required.You are strongly encouraged to attend the day-long silent retreat. If you are not able to attend the scheduled Session 4 <include date>, or if you would have to miss more than two sessions in total, we recommend that you register for this group when you have more availability.
