PhD Student receives best paper award

Omid Ardakanian was awarded best paper, at Association for Computing Machinery's e-Energy conference this May for the paper "Distributed Control of Electric Vehicle Charging" (O. Ardakanian, C. Rosenberg, and S. Keshav).

Supervised by Professors S. Keshav and Catherine Rosenberg, Ardakanian is a member of the ISS4E research group, currently working on designing a real-time distributed control algorithm for balancing demand and supply and preventing line and transformer overloading in a power distribution network. In spring 2012, he also received a Type 1 Cheriton Graduate Scholarship.
