Incentive rules and regulations
Students who participate in the University of Waterloo 2023 Non-Confirm Student survey or mail in a request to participate, to the address listed below will be entered into a draw for an early bird cash prize valued at $500, one of two (2) $200 cash prizes, and one of two (2) $50 cash prizes. The total value of prizes awarded for this contest is $1,000 in Canadian funds. Eligibility for the incentive opened on July 27, 2023 and closes on August 11, 2023. Early Bird Winner will be selected on August 2, 2023. The winner(s) of the other incentives will be selected after the survey close of August 11, 2023.

Eligibility
To be included in the draw, you can either complete the survey or mail in your request to be entered into the University of Waterloo 2023 Non-Confirm Student survey draw. Include your full name, the survey name, and preferred email address. Failure to provide all information will result in disqualification from the incentive draw.
Winner Selection
The winners of the gift cards will be selected in a random draw from eligible entries. Your odds of winning will depend on the number of individuals that enter into the draw. The selected entrant will be contacted by Academica within 14 business days of the draw by email. Please note that before being awarded the cash prize, the selected entrant must correctly answer a time-limited skill-testing mathematical question. The question will be sent by email to the selected entrant’s preferred email address.
Please note:
- The University of Waterloo nor Academica is not responsible for any incomplete, failed or delayed transmission of your submission due to the internet, including interruption or delays caused by equipment or software malfunction or other technical difficulties.
- The University of Waterloo and Academica reserves the right to disqualify any entry not conforming to these Rules and Regulations at any time.
- The University of Waterloo and Academica assumes no responsibility for entry fraud committed by entrant and reserves the right to demand return of the prize and all costs associated with remedying any prize awarded to an ineligible entry or entrant.
- The award amount is taxable if the winner is a full time employee of Waterloo or registered Waterloo student. It is your responsibility to report the amount received for income tax purposes.
- If a minor is selected, the parent or legal guardian of the selected entrant must sign an affidavit, in order for their child to be declared the winner. The prize will be issued in the parent or legal guardian's name.

Privacy Statement
Survey participation
Participation in this survey is completely confidential and voluntary. You may choose not to participate in the survey and still be included in the draw by mailing in your request and providing the required information (as outlined in the Eligibility section above). Entrant’s personal information is protected by Academica’s Privacy Policy. Entrants acknowledge that Prizes may be fulfilled by third parties and consent to the disclosure of personal information to such third parties for the limited purpose of fulfilling Prizes.
How results will be used
The University of Waterloo will use the results of this survey to improve the quality of events at the University of Waterloo for future students. Internal reports will include only summarized results, ensuring that no individual student can be identified.
Use of personal information
Academica collects your name and email address for the purposes of the draw only. Contact information will be stored separately from the survey responses and deleted once the draw is complete and awards have been collected. If you are not participating in the survey, by entering the incentive draw and voluntarily providing personal information including your name, email address, and mailing address, you are granting us permission to collect and use this information for purposes of the draw.
