Village 1 (V1) was the first residence built for students at the University of Waterloo. With a long history, it is here where many first-year students will call home.

Mackenzie King Village

Mackenzie King Village (MKV) offers the privacy of having a single room combined with the social benefits of living in a shared suite. Students also have a kitchen in their room to prepare their own meals.

4-month contracts available

Waterloo Residences offers 1-term contracts (4-month) to all full-time University of Waterloo students, including co-ops, year-round. No need to sublet or break a lease.

Upper-year students welcome

We welcome all upper-years to live with us! 

You will be placed separately from first-years while still enjoying the benefits, convenience, and community of residence.

The Velocity program

Our Minota Hagey residence houses upper-year students enrolled in a truly unique initiative for a university residence, the Velocity program.

Velocity was created to supplement classes and books with a taste of successful entrepreneurship, forming a collaborative community of future innovators and leaders.
