Welcome to the Faculty of Arts, a dynamic community of students, faculty and staff working in and across the humanities, social sciences and creative arts. Our ideas and actions are propelled by curiosity, creativity, and a deep commitment to contribute to a better world.
Professor Anindya Sen (Economics) has been appointed Associate Director of the Waterloo Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute, a multi- and interdisciplinary research centre with more than 88 research members from across the faculties.
For her outstanding work as a marketing associate for a cybresecurity organization, Ingrid Kaffka, a major in English Rhetoric, Media and Professional Communication, has been selected 2021 Co-op Student of the Year in the Faculty of Arts.
The Faculty of Arts is pleased to share that we have a new Teaching Fellow, Dr. George Lamont of the Department of English Language and Literature. The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
