Lauren Duffy (BA '15, Art Studio Practice, Arts and Business)
Lauren is a driven marketing professional with a passion for building brand identity and developing social impact partnerships for global financial service organizations.
She is the Senior Manager of Brand Marketing at RBC Global Asset Management where she leads the strategic marketing approach for PH&N Institutional and the Responsible Investment Survey, a key business initiative that delivers survey findings to institutional investors and consultants to aid their environmental, social and governance (ESG) and impact investing decisions.
Previously Lauren was the Manager of Global Sponsorship Marketing at Scotiabank where she oversaw the bank’s art and culture focused partnerships. In her tenure she ran an annual 7-city reading tour featuring the author finalists of the Scotiabank Giller Prize and launched the New Generation Photography Award for photo-based artists. Lauren was also a key contributor to the hockey sponsorship strategy, leveraging NHL team and athlete partnerships to engage Canadians and drive market value for Scotiabank and was an active stakeholder in Scotiabank’s community investment and diversity & inclusion initiatives.
Lauren is a BA Art Studio Practice, Arts & Business graduate and received the Winifred Hewetson Award in 2012. The award made it possible for her to travel to Tanzania, where she spent her first co-op term working for a non-profit called Art in Tanzania. In her role, she researched Fair Trade regulations and initiated the organization’s application to become a Fair Trade Support Organization. She also helped several groups of talented artisans acquire the funding and networking skills they needed to become self-sustaining.
Aidan Garrib (MA '08, Political Science)
Prior to Pavilion, Aidan directed the global asset allocation strategy for a large Canadian bank, as well as oversaw the macro overlay trading book for the bank in London, England. Aidan holds an undergraduate and a Master’s degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Waterloo, as well as a Master’s of Finance degree from Queen’s University.
Anjie Persaud (BA ’15, Sociology)
Anjie completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Waterloo & a Master of Business Administration at Wilfred Laurier University. As of Sept, Anjie joined Conestoga College as a PT Professor teaching Organizational Behaviours.
Ryan Silva (BA ’05, Political Science)
Ryan’s past roles at CIBC Mellon include Vice President of Client Solutions, Chief Administrative Officer, Assistant Vice President, Client and Advisor Services Group and Senior Manager, Strategic Operational Excellence. Within these roles, he was tasked with developing solutions for clients, creating a staff efficiency model to monitor and improve personnel productivity and executing a framework to create strategic alignment throughout several business units, leading to improved operational performance.
In addition to his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waterloo and Lean Six Sigma certification, Ryan holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business, York University.
