The Waterloo Aboriginal Education Centre and the Faculty of Arts are pleased to announce a new Indigenous Speakers Series highlighting the voices of Indigenous artists, writers, activists, and leaders from across Turtle Island.

The Bookstore and Writing Centre present a book launch event for Performing Antiracist Pedagogy in Rhetoric, Writing, and Communication, co-edited by professors Vershawn Young (English and Drama & Speech Communications) and Frankie Condon (English).

The Balsillie School of International Affairs (BSIA) is hosting an exciting public lecture by Dr. Kim TallBear, Associate Professor and Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Peoples, Technoscience and Environment at the University of Alberta.

Chiharu Iinuma is a highly accomplished pianist and teacher from Vancouver. Currently, she is on the piano faculty at the Vancouver Academy of Music and Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music. Chiharu has also collaborated at the world's most prestigious music competitions, including the Tchaikovsky and Queen Elizabeth, Leonard Rose  Competitions.   

As a part of International Women's Day on March 8th, Arts HeForShe will be screening the hit documentary "Dream, Girl", showcasing the stories of ambitious, millennial female entrepreneurs.

The University of Waterloo's Community Relations invites everyone to a public lecture and panel on the impacts of the U.S. Presidential Administration, particularly the social, cultural, and economic consequences of politics.

Drawing from the nickname for the clarinet - the "licorice stick" - and the fact that they play "all sorts" of music, the Licorice Allsorts Clarinet Quartet have been delighting audiences of all ages with entertaining and informative programs since 1980.  Faculty, staff, and students are welcome to bring their children to this concert - suitable for ages 8 and up.

Join the Department of Anthropology for the 2017 Silver Medal Award Guest Lecture. Professor Homa Hoodfar will speak about academic freedom based on her experience in Evin Prison, where she was imprisoned while on a personal and research visit to Iran in 2016.

The Department of Fine Arts proudly presents IGNITE, the 43rd Annual Senior Undergraduate Exhibition featuring artwork by fourth year honours students completing the Fine Arts undergraduate program. Representing diverse range of themes, materials and media, the exhibition reflects both the creativity of the students and their wide-range of studio-based practices.
