Imposter syndrome is feeling like you don’t deserve the level of success you have achieved. It can include feelings of self-doubt and a big pressure to not fail, so as not to be exposed as a ‘fraud’. Because of this fear of failure, it can often be linked to perfectionism. These feelings may be exacerbated by other factors for Black students, such as racism and other intersecting forms of oppression.
