GenAI in Teaching Material Development - In Person (CTE7553)

Tuesday, April 14, 2026 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)

Location: In-person, MC 2036

Facilitators: Natalie Chow and Victoria Feth

CTE acknowledges the complexity of GenAI, including its social, ethical, and pedagogical dimensions, as well as the potential benefits and challenges it poses within educational contexts. This workshop is designed to provide an opportunity to learn about the tools available and to better equip you to make an informed decision about their use.

Description

This workshop explores practical ways GenAI can assist in developing a wide range of teaching materials. Focus areas include:

  • course planning and design,
  • creation of lecture content and instructional materials,
  • creation of (formative) assessments, and
  • creation of interactive and creative content.

To tailor the session to participants' needs, a brief pre-workshop poll will be conducted to help prioritize which aspects to emphasize.

This workshop will follow a 60+30 format (60 minutes interactive presentation followed by 30 minutes of structured AI exploration and discussion). To fully engage in the hands-on activities, please bring your laptop.

This workshop description was edited for spelling, grammar, and sentence clarity with the assistance of AI.
