Fundamentals Block session

The Fundamentals Block session is the Fundamentals of University Teaching program in two weeks. It is a highly intensive environment, and the Block session requires a full commitment for the two weeks. 

How to register:

The Fundamentals Block session is offered each Winter and Spring term, in March/April and July/August respectively. We do not hold a block session in the Fall term. Registration is limited to 16 participants. To register, participants must:

  • be Master's student, PhD student, or postdoctoral scholar currently attending at the University of Waterloo
  • commit for the entire two-weeks of the in-person program

Location of the block program:

The block program is held fully in-person in our workshop space in Math & Computer (MC) room 2036 and 2036A.

I am registered in the regular Fundamentals program. Can I take individual workshops through the Block program to complete my certificate?

To inquire about space available in a particular workshop offered during the Block program, please contact cte-grad@uwaterloo.ca  and include the course code and workshop title you are interested in.

I am registered in the regular Fundamentals program. Can I take individual microteaching sessions during the Block program to complete my certificate?

Unfortunately, due to the limited space in microteaching sessions, extra participants cannot be accommodated.
