The Centre for Teaching Excellence (CTE) offers an intensive 2-week version of the Fundamentals of University Teaching program each April, August, and December to a limited number of currently enrolled graduate students. Participants are issued the same Certificate of Completion and transcript milestone as the regular program.

Like the regular Fundamentals program, the block program comprises six workshops on university teaching and three microteaching sessions where participants deliver 15-minute lessons to their peers and receive feedback on their teaching. Unlike the regular program, the block program is highly intensive and requires a full time commitment for the two weeks.

The block program is particularly useful professional development for graduate students who are working as TAs in the upcoming term and wish to obtain intensive training in advance.

Fundamentals block registration:

Registration in the block session is limited to 16 participants. Participants must commit to the entire duration of the program.
