Support for chairs and directors

Are you looking for support for members of your department or program? If so, CTE's six Faculty Liaisons are often the best point of first contact. The Liaisons can assist instructors in designing and delivering courses grounded in sound pedagogical practices; they can also help instructors implement innovative and effective learning activities in Waterloo's learning management system (LEARN). If a Liaison can't assist an instructor with a specific issue, he or she will direct the instructor to a CTE staff member who can.

Waterloo's Teaching Fellows are also available to support departments and instructors. Their mandate is to foster a culture of teaching at the University of Waterloo marked by an interest in engaging students and a commitment to professional development. Among other things, they can provide or coordinate assistance and mentoring to any instructor.

General questions about available instructional or curriculuar support can be directed to the Director of CTE, Donna Ellis

Questions about administrative resources for departmental chairs and program directors can be directed to Nancy Waite. Nancy can also be contacted regarding questions about the Academic Leadership Program, a program designed to meet the needs of Academic Chairs and Directors, Associate Chairs/Directors, and Associate Deans.

If you are looking for support for a specific issue or in a specific area, please contact any of the individuals in the tables below.
