As Educational Developer, Research and Consulting, Dr. Annik Bilodeau consults with and supports faculty and staff on the design and implementation of pedagogical research. She also chairs the annual University of Waterloo Teaching and Learning Conference, and administers the Learning Innovation and Teaching Enhancement (LITE) grant program.

Annik obtained her PhD in Spanish from the University of Ottawa (2016), studying Spanish American narrative and its integration in second language teaching, as well as the evolution of cosmopolitanism thought in Mexican and Peruvian contemporary literature. She is currently researching feminist street art and activism about gender-based violence and reproductive rights in Mexico, Chile, and Argentina (SSHRC Insight Grant, 2022-2027). Her other research interests are feminist pedagogies and collaborative learning.

Prior to working at the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE), Annik was a Lecturer in the Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies at Waterloo, where she taught language, culture, and literature courses. She also taught in the Arts First program.  

Outside of work, Annik enjoys rock climbing, photography, and Nordic noir novels.
