Recipients of the 2025 Teaching Awards!
The recipients of the 2025 Distinguished Teacher Awards and the 2025 Amit & Meena Chakma Awards for Exceptional Teaching by a Student have been announced.
Distinguished Teacher Awards
- Chad Wriglesworth, St. Jerome's University
- Elena Neiterman, School of Public Health Sciences
- Marc Hurwitz, Conrad School of Entrepreneurship and Business
- Martin Pei, Combinatorics & Optimization
The main criterion of the Distinguished Teacher Awards is a record of excellent teaching over an extended period at Waterloo, usually at least five years.
Amit & Meena Chakma Awards for Exceptional Teaching by a Student
- Alexandra Kunert, Earth and Environmental Sciences
- Ali Syed, School of Pharmacy
- Jeremy Cohen, Kinesiology & Health Sciences
- Serena McDiarmid, Psychology
The Amit & Meena Chakma Awards for Exceptional Teaching by a Student (AETS) awards are open to all students who have a formal teaching role at the University of Waterloo. Up to four awards are given annually in recognition of excellence in teaching of all kinds by registered students.
