Recipients of the June 1, 2024 LITE Grants have been announced!
On June 18, CTE held its annual PD Day in the relative coolness of the E5 building! Our staff delivered presentations on the theme of “gathering” — how we do it, how to keep gatherings meaningful, what less obvious purposes do gatherings serve — and included sessions ranging from “What Does Community Mean To You” to “Street Art.” Staff members brought their own lunches and contributed to a gathering of homemade cookies, rhubarb muffins, and tarts.
CTE's Rebecca McAlpine is one of two recipients of the 2024 Warren Ober Award for Outstanding Teaching by Graduate Students Within the Faculty of Arts. Dr. Greta Kroeker, who nominated Rebecca for the award, comments that “one of the greatest characteristics of Rebecca as an instructor is the way she balances innovation and experimentation with proven pedagogical strategies.”
The University of Waterloo recently wrapped the 15th annual Teaching and Learning conference — one of the largest events dedicated to teaching and learning in higher education in Ontario.
