Brandon Dickson
Brandon Dickson (he/him) is a first-year PhD student in Global Governance at the Balsillie School of International Affairs, University of Waterloo. Brandon holds an Honours BA in Political Science and English and Cultural Studies from Huron at Western, a BEd with Intermediate-Senior History and English teachable subjects and a specialization in International Education from Western University, and an MA in Global Governance from the University of Waterloo. Brandon’s doctoral research focuses broadly on education in post-traumatic settings and the use of curriculum development to support resilient learners and education systems.  

Brandon has taught in classrooms from kindergarten through to university settings. As an Ontario Certified Teacher, he has taught in History and English courses as well as English Second Language at the secondary level. At the post-secondary level, Brandon has served TA and Head TA as well as delivered guest lectures in numerous political science courses. Brandon completed CTE’s Fundamentals of University Teaching (FUT) program and is currently completing the Certificate in University Teaching (CUT) program. Brandon loves supporting TAs in growing their teaching toolkits and becoming more comfortable implementing active learning strategies and effective assessment in their own practice.
