Emily Wedde (she/her) is a PhD Candidate in the department of Chemistry. Her research focuses on exploring the relationship between the structure of nanomaterials and their properties. She has been a teaching assistant for introductory chemistry laboratory and lecture courses since 2022 and was a sessional instructor for General Chemistry II.
Emily completed the Fundamentals of University Teaching Program in 2025 and is currently working through the Certificate in University Teaching program. She is passionate about creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment to provide students with a sense of community to support their growth. Her teaching experiences helped develop her interest in adapting teaching practices and participatory learning strategies to large introductory classes.
