Fam Saeed

Fam Saeed (he/him) is a third-year Ph.D. student at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Waterloo. Over the past 3 years, he has held various TA positions at the university. Fam completed CTE’s Fundamentals of University Teaching (FUT) program in 2022 and is currently completing the Certificate in University Teaching (CUT) program. In Early 2024, He was selected as a recipient of the Mircea Z. Cohn Graduate Scholarship for academic and research excellence in the Structures, Mechanics, and Construction group.

Born and raised in Egypt, Fam holds a BSc in Civil Engineering and an MSc in Construction Engineering and Management from Aswan University. At the same institution, from 2011 to 2021, Fam participated in teaching more than 12 undergraduate/graduate courses as a TA and Assistant Lecturer. As an international student at the University of Waterloo, he is well attuned to the importance of respecting the disciplinary and cultural differences in the teaching and learning process.
