Co-op Student of the Year Awards
Every year, one student from each faculty is presented with a Co-op Student of the Year Award for exceptional contributions to one or more of their work term employers. These awards take place towards the end of the winter term and celebrate student achievements from the winter, spring and fall terms of the previous calendar year.
Waterloo Co-op Student of the Year Award winners may be nominated by the decision committee for 2 other awards as well:
- Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning Canada (CEWIL) Canada Award
- chosen from post-secondary co-op students nation-wide based on their workplace achievements, academic achievements (80 percent average or above), contributions to the community and extra-curricular activity and contributions to co-operative education.
- Education at Work Ontario (EWO) Award
- chosen from post-secondary co-op students attending Ontario universities based on the same criteria as the CEWIL Canada award.
Co-op Problem Lab Awards
The Co-op Problem Lab Award is earned by providing the best analysis of an important problem relevant to a co-op employer or the employer’s industry.
The Award is provided by the Problem Lab, and the winners are determined by the Lab.
