The Co-operative Education Research Certificate (CERC) is a new designation that recognizes students who have worked in research-focused positions on multiple work terms. The CERC Capstone is the final milestone of the certificate, where students demonstrate their ability to conduct independent research on the job.

On March 12, we held our first-ever CERC Capstone event with two brave students from the Faculty of Health. At the event, Erica McDonald and Prabhjeet Sahota gave 15 minute presentations about their impressive experiences across multiple research institutions while on co-op work terms.

In attendance were more than 30 individuals from across campus, including Faculty of Health Associate Deans, members of the CEE leadership team, major stakeholders and other students who have shown interest in the certificate.

Overall, the Capstone event was a success! Our first two candidates impressed us all with their co-op research experiences and set the bar high for future events. We look forward to next cohort of Research Certificate candidates presenting in spring 2019!
