Directions and parking

Free parking will be available in most parking lots (all except D, H, and ECEC). Watch for signs as you approach the main campus in Waterloo. Printed open house guides will be available when you arrive on campus.

Most activities take place at our main campus in Waterloo, except for the following.

School of Architecture

For School of Architecture activities, please go directly to the satellite campus in Cambridge, Ontario.

Global Business and Digital Arts

If you're interested in our Global Business and Digital Arts program, you can speak with program representatives on our main campus or explore the satellite campus in Stratford, Ontario.

Pharmacy

Join us on our main campus on Saturday, November 8 for an information session and Q&A. Or register to attend information sessions and tours at the School of Pharmacy in Kitchener on Sunday, November 9. The School is closed to visitors on Saturday due to pharmacy licensing exams.

Inclusion and accommodations 

  • Accessible parking is available in every major parking lot as well as designated areas throughout campus. 
  • An accessible taxi is available for guests with mobility concerns to move around campus. Please email askus@uwaterloo.ca before the open house to minimize any waiting during the event. 
  • Accessible and all-gender washrooms are available throughout campus, as well as washrooms carrying menstrual products
  • Multi-faith spaces are operating according to their regular hours. SLC 3252/3254 (on the third floor) is a centrally-located option that will be open.  
  • A low-sensory room is available in QNC 1506.

  • Waterloo guarantees housing for incoming first-year students. In this session you will learn about the difference between traditional and suite-style housing, Living Learning Communities, meal plans, and supports available to you in residence.

  • In this session you will learn about the general application process, admission requirements and timing for fall 2026 admission.

  • Join us to explore what makes Waterloo unique, how co-op prepares you for your career, and details about admissions. Come learn about Waterloo and if it's right for you!

Co-operative and Experiential Education - HH Humanities Theatre (45 mins.) 2:30 p.m.

  • A co-op program is a great way to help pay for university, explore potential careers, and gain valuable work experience as part of your degree. In this session we go over information on Waterloo's co-op program and other opportunities for experiential education here at Waterloo!

Campus tours

Campus walking tours

Take a 45-minute general campus tour and learn about campus life from your student guide. Tours leave throughout the day from the campus tour booth in the Student Life Centre (SLC).

Campus tours do not include residence. To see our residences, join a campus housing tour or visit the University Colleges.

Campus bus tours

Hop on (and off!) our shuttle bus for a guided tour of campus. Student guides will be on board to highlight key points of interest and answer your questions.

Stay on for the whole tour (approximately 20 minutes), or hop on and off at our various shuttle stops. Tours start from the Quantum-Nano Centre (QNC) every 25 minutes.

Residence tours

Campus Housing

Tour our on-campus residences and find out which style suits you best — a traditional dorm experience or a suite-style apartment. Learn more at the residence booth in the SLC or by attending the Campus Housing info session at 10:30 a.m. in the HH Humanities Theatre.

For tours of Campus Housing residences, you can go directly to the residences that are open for tours, or look for the black “Campus Housing” tent beside Ring Road on the path leading to Village 1.

All University Colleges have a fully accessible route. Campus Housing has two accessible tours: CMH and MKV.

Living Learning Communities

Ask about our Living Learning Communities (LLC), offered by Campus Housing, Renison University College, and United College. LLCs are designed to support you while you live in residence, with upper-year Peer Leaders helping you succeed and get connected.
