We continue to work towards a new Strategic Talent and Performance Framework that includes an updated approach to performance reviews. As we transition to the new framework, we will not require managers and employees to complete forms for the 2024 performance year. Instead, we are asking managers to have performance conversations with their direct reports to review 2024–25 plans, to provide feedback for the 2024 year, and to set goals for the coming year.
In the new year, Human Resources will be sharing new performance conversation guides that integrate Waterloo’s institutional values. We will also be offering workshops to support performance conversations and provide information on the Strategic Talent and Performance Framework.
Provost Advisory Committee on Staff Compensation (PACSC) update
In July, the PACSC submitted a one-year recommendation for the year ending April 30, 2025, that was accepted by the Vice-President, Academic and Provost. The committee is now finalizing the next staff salary recommendation. We expect this work to be complete by the end of February, and we will share more information in the new year.
