Moderator: Kyle Rowe (GBDA ’21, Global Business and Digital Arts)

Kyle Rowe is a recent graduate from the Global Business and Digital Art program at the University of Waterloo and an aspiring business leader with a focus on marketing and brand management. Kyle has three years experience implementing digital marketing strategies across various social media platforms, leveraging trends and market research to achieve higher click-through and engagement rates. With multiple years experience in management roles overseeing event planning, ranging from 1,600 to 30 attendees. Extremely familiar with operation logistics such as costs, security, sponsor relations and field marketing.

Julie Ford (BA '07, English)

Julie Ford began her marketing career as a content marketer more than 14 years ago. She has since grown to become a marketing strategist and leader. Julie has been building and leading high performance marketing teams since 2013 in technology companies as well as her own marketing agency. In her current role as Vice President of Marketing at SkyX, a high growth startup in the drone and aerial data space, Julie is focused on building and scaling the marketing team. Julie was previously Head of Marketing at Leonardo where she completely repositioned the company, refreshed the brand and digital presence and significantly increased marketing’s revenue contribution. Julie has also scaled her own marketing agency over eight years working with numerous Toronto-based tech companies and many notable brands, including Tridel, SickKids Hospital, Peller Estates Winery, Henry’s Camera.

Paulina Morgan (BA '18, Honours Economics)

Paulina is a graduate of the University of Waterloo’s Arts and Business program. Having completed her B.A. of Honours Economics, she also minored in French, having studying abroad in Paris.

Having worked at both a multi-national financial institution and with a digital product in the quick paced environment of the agile tech start-up world, Paulina’s focus is primarily in marketing automation in the tech industry.

These days, Paulina continues to works with innovative and creative companies to help them succeed by creating product need, boosting brand affinity, building trust and fostering authentic connections with audiences. With a curious, creative and analytical mind - she loves to collaborate in teams to solve challenges and bring new ideas to life in environments of change and disruption.

Gaurav Pokharel(BA '12, English)

Gaurav is a graduate of the University of Waterloo’s Honours English, Rhetoric and Professional Writing (Co-op) program, with a minor in Digital Media Specialization.

Since graduating, Gaurav has held progressive marketing and communications roles within the executive recruitment industry, bringing a unique blend of communications expertise with an in-depth insight into Director, VP, and C-suite positions within Canada’s most prominent organizations.

Currently, Gaurav works as a Senior Consultant for Massey Henry, an innovative executive search firm specializing in the recruitment of leaders within the financial services and public sectors. At Massey Henry, he supports the sourcing and assessment of senior leaders and leads the development of communications and marketing related to the recruitment process, including candidate briefs and advertisements.

A multi-lingual immigrant raised in Canada, Gaurav is driven by his lived experience, bringing a deep commitment to advance diversity, inclusion, and equity principles at the senior executive levels in Canada.
