The Desmarais Family Summit Public Exhibition showcases projects from ARTS 450: The Future of Connection—Platforms, Privacy, and the Public, offered in collaboration with the i-Capstone program.
About the event
Throughout the term, interdisciplinary student teams have explored how digital platforms influence connection, privacy, and public life—asking a central question: Are we more connected than ever, or drifting further apart?
At this exhibition, which is open to the public, visitors can engage directly with students on their research that, overall, imagine more ethical, equitable, and human-centred digital futures. Projects are supported by an interdisciplinary instructional team and our Jarislowsky Fellows, who were a guiding force through the Global Engagement Seminar.
This year’s exhibition features Dr. Heather Suzanne Woods, 2025 Jarislowsky Fellow, an award-winning scholar and higher-education leader whose work examines the social impacts of technology. Dr. Woods will share closing reflections on the future of connection and the role of student-led innovation.
