Description: Most instructors teach the way they were taught, which may or may not be a good thing. This interactive workshop will provide participants with a toolbox of activities suitable for any classroom. We will introduce the concept of active learning and teacher-centred versus student-centred classrooms. In this workshop we will also discuss some of the reasons for using different teaching methods and help you decide which ones are right for your classroom.
Facilitator: Dan McRoberts, CTE, and Jessica Leung, CTE
Notes:
- Open to all graduate students (registration required).
- Participants will receive an attendance credit if they arrive on time and stay until the end of the event.
- It is strongly recommended that this workshop be taken before starting microteaching sessions.
