Description

Presenters:

PebblePad is a centrally supported platform that, when combined with good course/program design, can support integrative and experiential teaching and learning. In this session, we’ll hear how instructors and students have used various PebblePad features to support peer review, self-directed learning and to help students reflect on, articulate, and provide evidence of their learning with the goal of preparing our graduates for the volatility, uncertainty, ambiguity, and complexity they will encounter in the future.

Reflecting, Articulating and Providing Evidence of Learning: Discover the potential of PebblePad's 'Map My Learning' tool through the personal journey of Charley Potter,(3rd year student in Faculty of Science). Charley will illustrate how PebblePad enabled them to reflect on, articulate, and provide concrete evidence of the skills and graduate attributes cultivated during their co-op work term. (Learn more about PebblePad’s Capabilities Feature.)

Reporting Features: Madeline Noble (Kinesiology) will share how PebblePad’s ‘Reporting features’ supported teaching and learning in her Kinesiology course. (Watch a short video to learn more about PebblePad’s Reporting Features.)

Fostering Peer Review and Amplifying Feedback - Jennifer Yessis (School of Public Health Sciences) will share how PebblePad scaffolds the peer review process. In her Master of Public Health Capstone course, Jennifer employs PebblePad's peer review feature and feedback templates to help students collaboratively engage in critiquing each other's portfolios-in-progress and use the feedback to enhance the quality of their own final submissions.  PebblePad’s reporting features support the process making it easy to compile and return the feedback. (Learn more about PebblePad peer review feature and feedback templates.)

Supporting Self-Directed Learning – Leeann Ferries (Recreation and Leisure Studies) revises and adapts a PebblePad workbook to support Student Led Individually Created Courses (SLICCs) framework.  Join us to learn how this workbook helps students prepare more intentionally for their practicum by guiding them as they set personal learning goals, audit existing skills, create plans for developing skills they will need, reflect on their learning process, and hone their ability to self-evaluate.  In essence, the workbook supports the cultivation of self-directed, lifelong learners.

We hope these mini-presentations will leave you inspired to reimagine your course or program with PebblePad.
