Terminology
- Major: The focus of your degree. Most of your courses would be in this subject. This is often called your "program."
- Minor: You can choose to add a minor to your degree. A minor consists of 8 to 10 courses.
- Double major/joint honours: Focus on two areas of study. Nearly all your courses would be in these two subjects.
Important
- Highly structured programs with many required courses (such as Engineering, Architecture...?) often don't have the flexibility to add minors or double majors. Many of these programs do have specializations within the program you can choose.
- Most minors, double majors, etc., start in second year.
- You should contact the recruitment co-ordinator for your main major/program of interest to discuss double majors.
