Employee Conversation Guides: Year-End Wrap-Up Conversations (2024)
For 2024, managers and employees will continue to have performance conversations, reflecting on successes, provide feedback, and develop plans for the coming year. These include discussions about individual and department goals and their alignment to Waterloo’s longer-term goals to create purpose and clear alignment between employee and University goals and our institutional values. Guides have been developed to encourage and inspire better conversations with your manager.
Note: Completing the performance appraisal form used in the past is not required for 2024.

Many managers and leaders have regular, open and ongoing conversations with each staff member throughout the performance year. As we approach the conclusion of 2024, an opportunity presents itself to engage in a comprehensive discussion regarding the accomplishments of the year, the lessons learned, and the goals employees may wish to establish for the upcoming year. These guides provide questions to assist managers in navigating these conversations for successful outcomes.
