Below is a non-exhaustive list of external resources that may be of assistance. There are more organizations that may be able to help you. We encourage you to explore the various support available.

Canadian Mental Health Association

The Canadian Mental Health Association provides resources to help you balance your priorities and maintain optimum mental health, both at home and in the workplace. Employers can also download a toolkit to help support their employees in achieving a healthy work/life balance.

Mental Health Helpline

The Mental Health Helpline provides information and support about mental health services in Ontario - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is confidential and free. They are funded by the Government of Ontario.

Wellness Together Canada

Wellness Together Canada was created in response to an unprecedented rise in mental health and substance use concerns due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with funding from the Government of Canada. As a country, we are facing challenges at a scale we’ve never seen before, from social isolation and financial insecurity to substance use concerns and racial inequality. They provide mental health and substance use support for people in Canada and Canadians abroad. Always free and virtual, 24/7.

Mental Health Commission of Canada

The Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) is a catalyst for improving the mental health system and changing the attitudes and behaviours of Canadians around mental health issues. Through its unique mandate from Health Canada, the MHCC brings together leaders and organizations from across the country to accelerate these changes.

Guarding Minds @ Work

Guarding Minds @ Work (GM@W) is a unique and free, comprehensive set of resources designed to protect and promote psychological health and safety in the workplace. GM@W resources allow employers to effectively assess and address the 13 psychosocial factors known to have a powerful impact on organizational health, the health of individual employees, and the financial bottom line.

Workplace Strategies for Mental Health

The Great-West Life Centre for Workplace Strategies for Mental Health provides employers with a variety of free public resources including information, strategies, tools and initiatives as well as support for research aimed at improving workplace mental health. The Centre also reviews current research and innovative programming available in the area of workplace mental health. Everything on the site is available for all Canadians at no cost, compliments of Canada Life.
