Workshop Overview:

Come together for a bookshop experience where we will focus thoughtful conversations around the human side of leadership in these times of workplace transition and continued unrest. Explore what Patten calls her “big 8” capabilities that help set leaders apart. 

"Drawing on learnings and a framework tested with over 900 senior leaders across industries and geographies, Intentional Leadership presents a guide for continuous renewal, focusing on the human side of leading. Learning Outcomes: 

  • Examine the human side of leading in the context of your experiences as a leader of people. 
  • Explore leadership capabilities through the lens of intentionality and reflection. 
  • Foster a network of collaborative partners that share diverse points of view and a shared interest in the human side of leadership and leading with intention. 

Structure

 The bookshop will be set up in 3 separate sessions that align to specific sections of the book. After registering in Portal, an additional Outlook invitation will be issued for all three sessions by the facilitator. 

  • Session 1: October 6 
    • Welcome and Bookshop Overview 
    • Book: Read pages 1-90 
      • Part one: Leadership has never been harder – the changing context drives it 
      • Part two: Long held beliefs, myths and habits – challenges to leaders’ success 
  • Session 2: October 27 
    • Book: Read pages 93-153 
      • Part 3: The big 8 crystallizes – setting leaders apart 
  • Session 3: November 17 
    • Book: Read page 155-end 
      • Part four: Applying it! Leadership starts with you – it must be intentional 
      • Reflection and a Call to Action 

Preparation

A copy of the book will be provided by OHD. Once you have registered for the bookshop, the facilitator will contact you with instructions on how to pick up your copy.
