Workshop Overview:
Leadership Lab: People Leadership offers comfortable and supportive space for managers, supervisors, and folks leading people at the University to co-create an informal peer community. Using the Circles of Influence Framework to guide the conversation, participants will reflect on their leadership style and practices, identify where their control and influences lies with respect to a pre-selected issue, and learn from each other about how to approach challenges arising.
We continue to hear from leaders, particularly those new to their roles, that it would be helpful to have intentional space in which they could collectively think through the “how tos” of being the leader they want to be. And we know that many leaders work in isolation, making it harder to seek peer feedback in real time. Leadership Lab is one way in which such peer feedback can be fostered, all while receiving and providing each other compassionate care.
Each meeting will focus on a specific theme connected to the University community. The themes for Fall 2024 are:
- September 24, 2024 - Finding Team Connection in Hybrid Work
- October 23, 2024 – Navigating Being a Middle Manager
Please note: This offering has been designed to be audience specific. Participants without direct supervisory responsibility are encouraged to register for the Personal Leader Pathway offering of the same name.
