Paying casual employees

Casual employees have a two week (bi-weekly) work period (pay period). Each work period begins on a Sunday and ends on a Saturday, with a delay of six days between the end of the work period and the pay date on the following Friday. The cut-off for submission of casual hours through Workday is noon (12 p.m.) on the Monday of the pay week. The cut-off for submission of paperwork to Human Resources is no later than 2:30 p.m. on the Thursday prior to the pay week.

Please note: Registered graduate students who are working on a casual basis are classified as “Grads” for payroll purposes and are paid on the monthly pay cycle.
