Join a panel of experts in digital media and game studies at THEMUSEUM as they discuss the cultural, educational, social, and political role of games and gameplay in our lives. Leah Zhang-Kennedy, Aimée Morrison, Steve Wilcox, and Betsy Brey will discuss creating and playing games critically, games for behavior change, games for health, educational and serious games, game-based learning, lootboxes, computer security and privacy, children’s online privacy, and digital literacy.

A week of performance art presented by the University of Waterloo Art Gallery (UWAG)  and the Department of Fine Arts.  Look for the vintage Airstream trailer on campus between the Dana Porter Arts Library and Arts Lecture Hall.

Waterloo's Centre for Theoretical Neuroscience invites everyone to an open house, the culmination of a two-week workshop that teaches researchers how to build sophisticated brain models. These international experts will demonstrate large-scale brain models running on laptops, robots, and specialized brain-like computers while simulating neural functions. Among the brain-like computers used at the summer school is Braindrop, a new mixed analog-digital neuromorphic chip developed in collaboration with Stanford and Yale.

Michelle Davis and James Eaves will discuss legislation, access to and responsible use of medical cannabis, as well as innovations in the cannabis industry and how it all relates to our community.

The music for this concert is a collection of enchanting and beautiful compositions from all over Europe and England. The incomparable Beethoven wakes us to the evils of politics, dishonesty, and murder in his dramatic overture to Coriolan. A fitting overture for an election year...

There could not be a more delightful way to spend a summer evening.  Three different chamber groups of talented students will perform classical music in the Conrad Grebel Chapel.
