Twenty research projects led by Faculty of Arts researchers have received funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) of Canada to develop solutions for a more resilient and equitable future. “The diversity of Arts' scholarship highlights the strength of Waterloo’s research ecosystem and its capacity to produce innovative, impactful work with local, national, and global significance,” said Ana Ferrer, Associate Dean, Research.

Arts researchers continue building knowledge and solutions to address our shared global futures. Learn about the projects of 26 recipients of new research funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC). 

The Faculty of Arts welcomes Dr. Emma Brandt, a new postdoctoral fellow working in Communication Arts who began in her role on September 1, 2024.

The interdisciplinary project will examine the different factors that influence what people around the world consider to be wise ways to make decisions and solve dilemmas.
