COVID-19 Information for CTE Workshops and Events

CTE Workshop Space Layout and Logistics for Winter 2023 Term

Last Updated: November 8, 2022

Please check this webpage 1-2 days before your scheduled session since CTE workshop space protocols may change according to emerging directives from public health authorities and the University. CTE follows the University’s directives.

In the winter 2023 term, CTE will be offering some in-person workshops and events in our workshop space in Mathematics & Computer Building (MC) 2nd floor (MC-2036).

  • Reduced room capacity: Our in-person events will have a maximum of 20 participants and 2 CTE facilitators. Microteaching sessions will have 4 participants and one CTE facilitator.

  • Masks and face coverings: Although masks are not required, all participants and facilitators are strongly encouraged to wear masks when participating in CTE in-person events. Masks can be removed while speaking or presenting.

  • Disinfecting of surfaces: High-touch surfaces, such as tables, will be disinfected between workshops. Participants will also have access to hand sanitizer

  • Food and drinks: Drinks and food are permitted in the workshop space.

  • Covid screening: Please consider the following before attending campus for work or school:

    • Do you have any COVID-19 symptoms?

    • Have you been identified as a close contact of someone with COVID-19?

    • Are you required to self-isolate for any reason?

    • Have you recently tested positive for COVID-19 on a rapid or PCR test?

If you are experiencing symptoms or think you may have been exposed to COVID-19, please complete the Ontario COVID-19 self-assessment and follow the instructions you are given. If you are instructed to self-isolate, you must not attend campus. Participants in the Fundamentals of University Teaching program will have no penalty for missing an in-person workshop or microteaching session.

  • Modified seating plan and physical distancing: To ensure the safety of our participants and to accommodate various comfort levels for in-person events, our workshop space set-up will have 2 participants per table, with space in between participants (see the seating chart below).
