Description

How can you turn your pedagogical research into an engaging learning experience for conference participants at UW Teaching and Learning Conference? This workshop explores practical approaches to planning and delivering an engaging conference presentation. Using Hawkins and Smith's (2010) "CLEAR" model, this session will provide participants with the opportunity to identify features of an engaging presentation, how to adapt content and delivery for different audiences, and explore how delivery choices influence understanding and engagement.

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the factors that make for an engaging conference presentation
  • Adapt content delivery to the appropriate audience
  • Analyze the impact of content delivery understanding and engagement
  • Apply the CLEAR model in a practical context
