Workshop description
This interactive workshop will provide teaching assistants with the techniques and confidence to effectively deliver an engaging lesson in the classroom. Topics covered in this workshop include: (i) methods for structuring your delivery, (ii) developing visual aids, (ii) strategies for preparation, (iv) dealing with nerves and anxiety and (iv) tips for engaging your students throughout the lesson.
You'll have the opportunity to practice your in-person teaching skills with a mini-presentation to a small group of peers. This session will be particularly helpful in preparing you for microteaching sessions in the Fundamentals of University Teaching program.
This workshop is offered on campus to allow you to practice in-person teaching skills or to model best practices for in-person teaching.

- Participants will receive an attendance credit towards the Fundamentals program if they stay for the full live session.
- We recommend taking this workshop before your first microteaching session.
Cancellations
This workshop has limited enrolment spots and often has a waiting list. If you have registered but can't complete the module, please cancel your registration well in advance through the registration system, so that someone else can fill your spot.
