Open to all graduate students, this interactive workshop will provide participants with a toolbox of activities suitable for any classroom and will introduce the concepts of active learning and teacher-centred versus student-centred classrooms. Attend and discuss some of the reasons for using different teaching methods and to begin to decide which ones are right for your classroom. Registration is required.
Effective Lesson Plans: Thurs., March 9, 1:00-3:00
This workshop will provide TAs with the techniques for organizing and structuring a lesson according to pre-established learning objectives. By looking at various lesson planning templates and developing your own example lesson plan, you will be able to develop a framework for lesson planning that is compatible with your teaching context and your teaching style.
