How Do We Learn: Looking Beyond the Classroom

The Fall 2018 issue of The University of Waterloo Magazine includes an article on how views of learning are changing, and how teaching is changing in response. The article, called "How Do We Learn: Looking Beyond the Classroom," features perspectives from Donna Ellis, Director of CTE; Mario Coniglio, Associate Vice-President, Academic; and Shannon Dea, Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy. As Donna Ellis notes, "We need to move away from instructors being responsible for delivering content and instead put the primary focus on learning and what students do to hone and demonstrate that learning."
