Introducing Winnie Chan!

Winnie Chan

CTE is pleased to announce that we've hired Dr. Winnie Chan as our Educational Research Associate while Kristen Archbell is on parental leave. Winnie obtained her PhD from Hong Kong and her research focused on soft power, public diplomacy, and policy development process. She has been involved in educational research projects related to University-wide Use of Student E-portfolios, Virtual Learning Communities, E-mentorship Program, and more. Winnie worked as researcher and lecturer at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She has been an instructor at the Department of Political Science in McMaster University, and is currently teaching policy skills at the Balsillie School of International Affairs in Waterloo.

As the Educational Research Associate, Winnie supports the development, implementation, and dissemination of educational research at Waterloo. She supports the coordination and programming of the annual Teaching and Learning Conference program as well as the Learning Innovation and Teaching Enhancement (LITE) grant program. Additionally, Winnie is actively involved in the CTE's assessment plan, evaluating the efficacy of the Centre's programming. She can be reached at wy3chan@uwaterloo.ca
