Conference poster with this year's conference theme: Motivating our Students and Ourselves

Register for the 2018 University of Waterloo Teaching and Learning Conference and join Waterloo instructors, staff, and students on April 26 for a full day devoted to exploring the role motivation plays in teaching and learning. Joe Kim, Associate Professor in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Behaviour at McMaster University and recipient of the 2017 D2L Innovation Award in Teaching and Learning, will kick off the conference with a keynote talk on student motivation and durable learning — learning that extends beyond the short-term and into the long-term retention of information that remains with students after the final exam. And in our Igniting Our Practice session, Sarah Tolmie(English Language and Literature) and Brian Forrest (Pure Mathematics) will invite participants to their classrooms by recreating successful ineractive teaching strategies. Registration closes April 4, 2018.
