As Educational Developer, Faculty Programs and Consulting, Katie provides confidential consultation with instructors throughout their career.  This support can include creating personalized and pragmatic professional development plans, as well as providing coaching through teaching observations.  Katie also works with units across campus to create and deliver educational development programs designed to respond to and address the changing needs of instructors. 

Prior to joining the CTE team, Katie offered consultation, coaching, and training for faculty as the Academic Freedom and Tenure and Policy Officer with the Faculty Association of the University of Waterloo (FAUW). Her previous roles at Waterloo’s AccessAbility Services and Student Success Office focused on building skill development and support for students. 

Katie holds a Bachelor of Global Studies, Laurier, a Bachelor of Education, Ottawa, and a Master of International Development, Guelph.  As a certified mediator with 15 years of experience, she brings a restorative approach in trying to build our shared capacity to address conflict and build community.
