Inclusion, accessibility, and accommodations

Inclusion and accommodations

Accessible and all-gender washrooms are available throughout campus, as well as washrooms carrying menstrual products.

Multi-faith spaces across campus are operating according to their regular hours. SLC 3252/3254 (on the third floor) is a centrally-located option that will be open.

Accessible parking spaces are available in every major parking lot as well as designated areas throughout campus.

An accessible taxi is available for booking to move around campus for guests with mobility concerns. We ask that you reach out to askus@uwaterloo.ca to book ahead of time to minimize any waiting during the event.

When taking a tour, please let your tour guide know if you would prefer an accessible route. The tours for main campus as well as all Faculties and University Colleges can be made fully accessible. Campus Housing offers two fully accessible tours: CMH and MKV.

Waterloo is a smoke-free campus

As of May 1, Waterloo joins over 100 universities and colleges in becoming a smoke-free campus. This ban includes all forms of smoking including tobacco or other products that produce smoke and/or vapour, e-cigarettes, tobacco products, and cannabis.

The ban does not apply to Indigenous ceremonies or traditions or to individuals with medical accommodations.

Tips for your visit

Before you arrive

  • Find your way here with directions to campus and watch for signs for event parking. Most parking lots are free for the event. We suggest starting your visit at the Physical Activities Complex (PAC) which will be our event hub for the day.
  • Dress for the weather. It may be 30°C or it may be 5°C. May is a fickle month!
  • Check out your residence options before you arrive and choose which residences you'd like to visit during the day.
  • Bring your water bottle! There are many touchless water fountains around campus where you can fill up.

On campus

  • Pick up an event guide when you arrive from one of our many volunteers stationed around campus.
  • Respect our feathered friends! Waterloo is home to Canada geese. It's nesting season so please maintain a respectful distance from geese and their nests.
